And now for something completely different….

You’ve likely noticed that posting frequency here at Promote the Progress has dropped off a bit.  Heck, I even let the third anniversary of the blog pass by with nary a mention (unless that qualifies).

Gimme a minute and I can explain…

While I’d like to blame it on Congress (we’re waiting for the 110th to get down to business), I can’t.  Nope…it’s all my fault.

I’ve made a decision to focus my efforts on FedCirc.us, the new patent caselaw portal that we launched earlier this month.  It’s a massive and worthwhile project, so I’m going to dedicate the majority of my ‘free’ time to that effort.  We’ve got a lot of forward-looking plans for the site, including an exciting slate of new products and services that will help all patent stakeholders stay up to date on the latest developments in the law.

I hope you’ll follow the developments over there as closely as you’ve followed Promote the Progress over the last several years.

So what does my shift to FedCirc.us mean for Promote the Progress?  Two things, primarily.  Posts will be made here less frequently, and content will focus more on editorial-style commentary (think open letters and analysis of breaking developments).  I’m also considering the possibility of inviting guest essays and commentary, perhaps in a point/counter-point style.  Look for an announcement on that in coming weeks.

You can probably expect to see an occasional, um, promo spot, for FedCirc.us as well.  ;-)

Promote the Progress is not going away by any measure.  Indeed, I have huge plans for this site, too.  Time is, unfortunately, the ultimate limited resource.  Someday…someday…

Thanks for reading.
